AJB is a super talented musician, DJ and producer who hails from Byron Bay Australia. You may know him from one of his other monikers including Mercury Monkey and 6000 Year Peach but no matter what name he releases under, he always creates music of the highest quality and his latest mixtape is a prime example of this. His Spring 2015 promo mix contains nothing but original material that traverses funk, glitch and breakbeat vibes and for some extra added flavour, he has expertly blended acapellas from the likes of Wu Tang Clan, 50 Cent, Ultramagnetic Mcs, Beastie Boys, Nickodemus, Busta Rhymes, Childish Gambino, Arrested Development and Public Enemy to deliver a mix of epic proportions.
Sammy Senior recorded his set from this years Fozzy Fest and it’s a superb mix of funked up and glitched out goodness that i’m sure had the party people in attendance getting down. Now you can get down too.

Spatts, a veteran of U.K Hip Hop and member of the legendary Criminal Minds (Baptised By Dub/Joyriders/The Criminal) has a fresh LP of the rawest, the phattest and the dopest Hip Hop with a star studded line up of guest MCs, producers and turntablists. If you are feeling starved of of the pure sound and somewhat tired of what passes off for Hip Hop these days then ‘Works Of Friction’ is the perfect antidote to a million mass produced ridiculously dressed ‘rappers’. 14 tracks, just under an hour of bona fide beats and rhymes, dubbed out sounds, samples and old skool production. We could mention a stand out track or two but this is a stand out album, you don’t even have to be a Hip Hop head to appreciate the dextrous beat manipulation, the wonderful ethos and the tight bars that this album has to offer and if you are a long time fan of Spatts, Criminal Minds and Brit Hop in general, this album is going to blow you away. Coming in CD format at the end of October, in the meantime, you can stream the whole LP on Spotify, that’s what we’re doing right now!!!
You can Spatts live along with Jerome Hill, The JUice MCs and other acts on 10/10/15 @The Silver Bullet, London, check the event details here
