Booty Fruit – Cherry Bombs Vol.1

Cherry Bombs Vol.1

http://www.junodownload.com/products/badboe-roast-beatz-cherry-bombs-volume-1/2213190-02/?scref=sc

The Booty Fruit Record label has rapidly become a name synonymous with supplying upfront party funk nuggets that get dance floors rocking and heads a nodding. With their latest release Cherry Bombs Volume 1 we are yet again treated to some instant club classics, with recognizable samples a plenty, fused with some serious production skills from the likes of Badboe, Roast Beatz, Waggles, El Bomba and Hidden Riddim that make for a well rounded release that sat at the number 1 spot in the Juno Download Breakbeat charts.

Roast Beatz takes Grand Puba, Biggie Smalls and Thievery Corporation on a smooth and sexy down-tempo trip, constructing the tune This Is Not A Love Song which is perfect for those early funk warmer sets. El Bomba and Hidden Riddim keep the tempo low but take the vibe up high for their track On A Mission as they combine a seriously tasty breakbeat with an even more delectable bass line with the result being a sure fire dance floor burner. Waggles tune has the upbeat tempo covered and is appropriately titled Mash Up The Fun which is exactly what he’s done, with the likes of Afrika Bambaataa and the Beastie boys getting a massive fun(ked) up samba work over. The absolute highlight of this release for me though has to be Badboes sublime jam Playin Yourself in which he delivers the best use of Ini Kamozes Hot Stepper I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard more than my fair share), melded superbly with Jeru The Damaja, some slick beat work and the juiciest disco bass line your likely to hear, creating a slick vibe that’s guaranteed to get those booties shaking.

Booty Fruit has gained a reputation for releasing high quality, funked up and club friendly tunes and with this first volume of the Cherry Bomb series supplying an abundant crop of the freshest, plumpest and tastiest produce to keep your aural taste buds satisfied, you’ll find it hard to resist getting your hands on some of this ripe and juicy booty fruit flavor.
