24K & Sevarge – We Make Sound

24K & Sevarge We Make Sound 18 09 RecordsOut 20/03/17 on Traxsource

24K & Sevarge join 18 09 Records with ‘We Make Sound’, they are in excellent company too thanks to a remix by Fake Self

The original is a swirling melodic Techno track with shades of Drumcode and Alan Fitzpatrick. Looped chords and riveting atmospherics really make this track work a treat. For the Tech House fans, Fake Self gives ‘We Make Sound’ a tough big room overhaul taking the darker elements of the original and bringing them firmly in front place.

Lex Loofah – Yin Yang

Lex Loofah - Yin Yang

As the title hints, Lex Loofah cleverly blends the supposedly incompatible with Techno slammer ‘Yin Yang on 18 09 Records with Rorschach remix. The original sparkles with light fluttering keys juxtaposed yet in perfect harmony with the growling synths and banging beats. Rorschach hits the road for a psychedelic spin around town of a remix!!!

Unreleased Remixes Vol 3 [18 09 Records]

8656-409788_600

18 09 Records compilation ‘Unreleased Remixes Vol 3′ rounds up some House & Techno’s most promising stars to remix gems from the labels’ illustrious back catalogue.

Nico Mendez remixes  Craig Hughes ‘Elysia’ in a snappy bouncy and hugely appealing fashion. Traffic Cop gives Rørschach ‘Submissive Thoughts’ a nice pounding Techno rework. Lex Loofah blurs the lines between Funky House and Techno remixing Libs ‘Together’

Dean Chappie & James Daniel set the lasers on Bobby Harvey/BTNY ‘Wonderland’ for an explosive Tech House heater. And in closing, Stewart Wilson remixes Libs ‘Transit’ into a radioactive weapon of a DJ tool. As far as remix collections go, this one is utterly essential.

18-09 Records Catch Up December 2016

18-09-records

Straight outta Scotland, 18 09 Records is an independent House & Techno label putting out quality underground beats on a regular basis, we round up some recent releases…

Luca De Santo- Relevance EP

Some real peak time melodic techno right here. Deep, swimming synths, Hip Hop vox and pounding beats are the tasty ingredients for ‘Relevance 101′. ‘Relevance  102′ leans more towards House and has a nice Balearic feel to it, perfect for ‘Ibeefaaa!!!’

Oliver Jay- Lucky strike EP

Now this is a hulkingly huge EP!!! ‘Fake Piano’ in particular just leaps out of the speakers with ravey Korg M1 pianos and a bouncing sequence of pads and beats that fit perfectly with the populist style of Tech House. ‘Going Home’ completely flips the script to uplifting classic garage/deep house with vibey organs and pianos. Not content with being incredibly diverse already, Oliver Jay turns the tables once again with the funky/tribal beats of ‘It’s Good’.

Stonedove- Trouble

We’ve been won over by a number of great tracks by Stonedove this year, here’s another one. A warm smile of a track that just keeps getting better. Lush pianos, shades of disco and those flutes!!! Oh My!!! Caveman turns in a excellent remix worthy of a Defected album and Libs does the same in his own upbeat style full of rich synth work.
