Golden Girls – Kinetic (Pirate Jams Remix)

Kinetic

Jalapeno Records has just released bonafide classic Golden Girls – Kinetic the Remixes, bringing back that iconic rave riff with remixes from AOTOA, Pirate Jams and Lindoman.

We’re bringing you the premiere of the Pirate Jams interpretation which has seen massive early support from all corners of the dance scene including rave pioneers Slipmatt and Graeme Park. The mysterious duo take the classic sounds of the Orbital and Mike Haell collaborative track and under pin with a hefty breakbeat / 4 x 4 crossover whilst keeping all the rawness of the original in tact. Adding subtle edits and delicate synths they perfectly update one of the most well known tunes of the rave era for the 2015 crowds.

Koma & Bones – Nu Horizons 02

Koma & Bones

Koma & Bones were a three man outfit from the north west of Britain (Lancaster), comprising of the dj’ing duo Andy Duckmanton & Chris Kirkbride, and former drum and bass producer Proteus (Jude Sebastian). Brought together by a deep love of twisted breakbeat the trio became one of the strongest breaks ‘groups’ in the scene.

With all the main players championing their music they released tracks on all the big labels such as TCR, Lot49, Perfecto Breaks and more. With a hardcore following of dedicated breaks heads lapping up their deep, twisted, electro-tech breakbeats they are one of the most missed artists from the golden era of breaks. Their last release was in 2008/2009. Check out their full back catalogue on Discogs – www.discogs.com/artist/11386-Koma-amp-Bones & buy what you can on Beatport – www.beatport.com/artist/koma-and-bones/2176

Plump DJs – Breezeblock 02/10/2000

plumpDJs

This weeks classic Throw Back mix is from none other than the Plump DJ’s. Now I was going to post the awesome Elastic Breaks mix they did for Mixmag but I’m sure everyone has heard that a million times (quite rightly so). I wanted to dig a little deeper and this mix was one of two I found that I feel show the duo at their best. Throwing down classic Plump material alongside lesser known bootlegs, garage, break-step, tearout and house they meld all the different flavours of breakbeat into an hour long mix of titanic proportions. This is one that needs to be played at high volume!

Check out their latest release below. Paul Oakenfold – Ready Steady Go (Plump DJs 303Bass Mix) is out now and available to buy HERE.

  7. Belushi – Evolution (Loaded)
