DJ Hero – Don’ Say The B Word [ALBUM FREE TRACK] (Ground Level)

DJ Hero releases his second album on Ground Level on 14th April. Don’t Say The B Word is a collection of 18 new tracks, aimed squarely at the dance floor, mixing the sounds of the broken beat with a variety of sound from the EDM and UK bass scenes.

Last year was DJ Hero’s most successful to date. After signing with Ground Level at the start of the year, his debut album followed in the summer, with every track on the album hitting the Beatport breaks top 100! Just Blow, one of the singles from the release hit the number 1 spot on the breaks chart, and subsequently spent over 6 months in the chart. His music was licensed to a variety of compilations and media projects, even including an advertisement for a Russian gymnasium!

Don’t Say The B Word builds on the vibe of Necessary Ingredients, covering the whole spectrum of the breaks scene. From the Euphoric opener of the Big Room perfectly juxtaposing trancelike chords with big bass sound – to the LFO wobbles of Hula Hoop, via the low slung bass vibes of Celestial Bodies (already a feature in DJ sets of the Stanton Warrios) – the album takes the listener on an energetic ride of all that’s good about dance music today.

DJ Hero – Necessary Ingredients EP & free re-edits

Ground Level kick off 2013 in style with U.S. breaker DJ Hero and his first of five EPs.

From euphoric chords, to hip hop vocals via acid house and lots of big room bass, DJ Hero is flexing his musical muscles this year. The 5 EPs, all featuring a mix of original new tracks and re-edits of Ground Level back catalogue, will also be joined by a mix album on iTunes later this year, combining the tracks from the EPs with DJ Hero's previous remixes for Ground Level.

EP1 contains two tracks that last year featured on US breaks legend Baby Anne's mix album Bad Baby. First up comes the VIP of D-Bot, a collaboration with Baby Anne, juxtaposing uplifting chords with lacings of robotic bass and wobbles. Next up is Kickin It, a fusion of breaks and broken house, with a huge chord sequence and dirty dutch lead hook. Kickin It gets the remix treatment from DJ Hero himself who slows the tempo down and Moombahtons it up, and it works every bit as well as this tempo as at the original!
