Radical Mixtape / Relative Dimension Goodies

Radical Mixtape / Hooka

The funktastic, boom-banging sounds of the Radical Mixtape / Relative Dimensions family have gone from up ‘n’ coming labels to fully fledged dance floor supremos in just over a year. The output from these labels has been consistently on point with tracks and remixes constantly gracing the top of the charts and appearing in the very best DJ’s sets. To celebrate their first birthday you can grab a bumper compilation featuring tunes from all the artists on the label.

So they’re celebrating along with us and have kindly donated two gifts for our exclusive party. First off label co-owner Doctor Hooka has put together a supa-fresh DJ set containing stacks of forthcoming material and unreleased gems alongside some of the labels finest moments. Those that know, know that Hooka is a beast behind the decks and this set is a tribute to that. Just take a look at the tracklist…

Radical Mixtape DJ comp -2nd Place – Jimmy F

Radical Mixtape Recordings recently held a mixtape competition with the only rules being the mix could be no more than 30 minutes long and had to stick in the 100-120bpm range. The winners where recently announced with the finalist mixes all being absolute A1 caliber ghetto funk throw downs that not only got a feature on Dr Hookers NSB Surgery radio show., but also picked up some nice prizes as well.

Second place in the comp went to Jimmy Flaps and all I can say is this is one top notch mix and a well deserved finalist.

Radical Mixtape Recordings + B-Side Summer Mix 2012

Radical Mixtape is an exciting new label from Crashgroove aka Dan Morgan and we have previews of their first release from B-side along with his latest DJ Mix for summer 2012.

“Loose Yourself” kicks of the two track release with James Brown telling ya to “Clap Ya Hands, Stomp Ya Feet” atop some slamming beats and catchy horns and soon leads into insanely funky b-line with enough bottom end to grab the attention of all the Ghetto Funkers out there.

“7K” is another killer track sampling the massive “Come Baby Come” by K7. A low slung, crunchy bass line rides the crisp beats and vocals of K7 to provide us with a perfect 2012 Ghetto dance floor version.

B-side – Party Bangers Vol. 1 is available soon at Juno.

B-Side – Lose Yourself Preview (Forthcoming on Radical Mixtape Recordings) by RADICAL MIXTAPE

B-Side – 7k preview (Forthcoming on Radical Mixtape Recordings) by RADICAL MIXTAPE

If that wasn’t enough for you then B-side steps up to the decks and turns out this wicked hour long mix of Ghetto Funk, Moombahton, Drumstep and D&B. Play Loud!
