Radical Mixtape – Remix Competition


The fine folk over at Funk and Filth are hosting a new remix comp for the awesome Radical Mixtape label. The winner gets a release on the label!

3. Post the Soundcloud link to your remix on the Funk and Filth Facebook page

Upload your remix by Sat 12th April 2014, we will then open a public vote to help us compile a shortlist of the best 5 remixes, and then Funk and Filth and Radical Mixtape will pick a winner!

The Prize

> The winner will have their remix released on Radical Mixtape plus an E.P. deal, promo list, back catalogue and Radical Mixtape stickers!!!
> The runner-up will have their remix released on Radical Mixtape, plus 12-months promo list and stickers too!!

The Rules
> Get as creative as possible! Feel free to include other samples along with the stems and we’re open to pretty much any funky, filthy genre (just please, pretty please, no happy hardcore! ;) )
> All remixes must be uploaded to Soundcloud (feel free to use the artwork image from the top of this page for your Soundcloud artwork) and must be posted on the Funk and Filth Facebook timeline by 23:59 (UK time) on Saturday 12th April 2014.
> We will then open the public vote on Monday 14th April and close at 23:59 on Sunday 20th April. Check back here between these dates to cast your vote! Make sure downloads are SWITCHED OFF (as your remix may end up being released!) and your Soundcloud description text should include a link to so people can get here easily to vote for you!
After the public vote has picked the shortlist, Radical Mixtape and Funk and Filth will choose a winner and runner-up.
> In the event of any voting anomalies or suspected foul-play, the final decision will be made by judges at Funk and Filth and Radical Mixtape Recordings.
> The decision of the judges will be final.
> Full details of the release schedule and terms will be determined by Radical Mixtape Recordings.

Emalkay – DJ Mix + ‘Tell Me’ Remix Comp


Having already established himself as a master of the Dubstep genre, Emalkay has surprised quite a few people by reinventing his sound. His new EP ‘For The People’ fuses elements of Trap, Electro and House into Emalkay’s already considerable sound palette. When Radio 1’s Skream and Benga invited him to do a guest mix for their show I suppose they can hardly have been surprised when he presented a mix that went through just about every Bass Music genre known to man (plus a few that haven’t been invented yet!). So adept is the genre bending and blending here that you do have to wonder why he’s been so quiet on the DJ mix front recently – this is his first one in a year! As well as all three tracks from his latest EP there’s a previously unheard track called ‘Boy/Girl’ included, plus tracks by Chase & Status, Flux Pavilion, Benga, I Am Legion and IllSkillz, amongst others.

Please make sure it is set to PRIVATE. Also make sure that you include your email address in the description and make sure it is a valid one as the winner will be notified by email. Entries not set to private or with no email address will be disqualified.

The winning entry will need to be supplied to us at a later date as an unmastered 24bit Wav so please ensure that you have this.

The final date for submissions is June 21st.
The Judges for this competition are Vinyl Junkie, Kickback, Sanxion and of course the RadioKillaz.

Remixes can be in any genre you like…


1. Entries must not contain uncleared 3rd party samples. By this i mean vocals or musical elements that have been taken directly from other peoples tunes. Sampled breaks and beats are perfectly acceptable as are samples taken from licensed / royalty-free sample packs.
2. Entrants must not be employees of Warehouse Wax Music or
3. The remix parts supplied must not be used for the production of any other music outside of this remix competition.
4. Any remixes submitted MUST NOT be uploaded to any other Soundcloud page or any other online platform in any form whatsoever (including being used in mixes or podcasts) with out permission in writing from Warehouse Wax Music. This means, not even once the competition has ended…
5. Only one entry per artist.”

Calling all producers! Gravitas Recordings has put together a remix contest for Mr. Bill’s original track, Cheyah, which was originally released on the Neurovation Compilation with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Charity:Water. Winners of the remix contest will have their track appear on the official remix EP, which will be judged by the official remixers including Bil BlessGruff (aka Bran Richards), PsymbionicGreat Scott, and of course Mr. Bill himself! Both a grand prize winner and a runner up will be chosen to appear on the release, and in addition will receive prizes from SoundCloud,Keith McMillen InstrumentsiZotope, and Ableton Liveschool.

Submissions are due by January 18th, 2013 and must be submitted to the remix contest SoundCloud group – get to work, and good luck!
