S Strong & Funkanizer – Groove Gigolos EP

S Strong & Funkanizer - 'Groove Gigolos EP

The Scour Records crew are back with their first release of 2014 and switching things up a tad with S Strong & Funkanizer providing a diverse four tracker for the second in the artist series. Hailing from Greece these two have been a regular part of the free scours for some time so it was only natural they would get a spot on the label. “Reflections” mixes some gorgeously funky wobbles with ritzy, swing vibes and hip hoppy beats. “Swing Mi Food” takes us on a sleazy, ragga drenched tip with heavy balkan influences. “Can’t Hold Back” picks up the tempo a tad with b-boy beats, exquisite horns and slick rap hooks. On a D&B tip we have the finale, “J&B” which is light and funky 172 bpm roller with plenty of soul.

Released today you should really be picking up your copy from HERE.

SCOUR RECORDS: FREEMIXED NUTS

Scour-Records-Freemixed-Nuts-Vol01_AW480

The awesome Scour Records have reached their first birthday and to celebrate have unleashed a bounty of freebies. Featuring four of the artists that have helped shape the label we get Father Funk reworking Leo Sayer into some respectable dance floor fodder, Leo dropping a rather large and bouncy bass-glitch-funk workout, Warp9 reshaping Prince’s 1999 for the new generation and The Phunk Junkies get it on with Shirley Bassey’s Big Spender and a double bass with glorious results. Every track is a winner and a great celebration. Here’s to another fine year of big tunes from Scour Records.
